Welcome to eyes4skies !

The domain eyes4skies is concerned mostly with amateur astronomy. I have to apologize that most of the contents is in German. BUT, you may read an English report on my observations of the total solar eclipse of 2006 in Side/Turkey or an example DeepSky report . Sorry for anything else, it's just too much work for me to keep everything translated to English as well. You may still get some impression on what I am doing by looking at the images only (hope so at least :-).

Here comes a coarse intro to the site: There are pages to publish my own observing reports mostly visual deep sky obs, some pages on astro-photography tests with a DSLR and 500mm lens and some explanations on digital image processing. You'll also find a rudimentary page on links into professional astronomy with a list of my publications in extragalactic astrophysics. In addition there are some pictures from professional obeserving runs at ESO La Silla/Chile and my trial ATM projects .

You can also check out some non-astronomical stuff, I am interested in, like Heidelberger Jazzchor and (digital) photography.

I am located in southern Germany (Heidelberg, 50miles south of Frankfurt) and member of several astronomical societies, e.g. our local group called Heidelberger Astrostammtisch .
